It's a pretty common scenario...
A new client contacts you with a seemingly simple request. Maybe she needs to move her site from one host to another, or set up an email list and add an opt-in form to her website. Perhaps she just needs someone to format some training materials and save them as PDF files.
You have the time to take on a new client, and you'd love to have the work (and let's face it - the money!) but you just aren't sure how to do the tasks she needs done. Unfortunately, you end up referring her to another VA.
Now, if you're just starting out, you might think this is just "par for the course." Or you may think you have to invest in expensive training courses or buy high-priced software to learn the skills you need. Or worse, you may believe you just don't have what it takes to master the technology.
Have you ever said to yourself....
I'm here to tell you, that's simply not true. If you can follow directions, you CAN master these skills.
When I got my start as a VA, I didn't know how to do anything. Worse, I was afraid to even try something new for fear of breaking a client's site. After many months of trial and error (what a waste of time!) and actually breaking a few sites, I finally gained the confidence I needed to take on new, and higher paying, clients.
And if I can do it, so can you. But you don't have to spend all that time studying and learning.
You can simply delve into the library at Educated VA when you need to, and learn:
Every member of the Educated VA receives a variety of training and tools designed to help your business grow. Inside the member's area you'll find:
This basic membership is a steal at just $7 per month, but several of you have asked for additional support, so...
What would it do for your confidence if you knew that any time you ran into trouble you could simply send off an email and get a fast, personal response to your specific question?
When you choose the Educated VA Basic Plus option, that's exactly what you'll get.
In addition to everything offered in the Basic memberhip, you'll also receive daily email support from me, personally. Any time you have a question or problem you can't resolve, simply email me, and I'll respond with the answer within 24 hours (usually much sooner). Some examples of questions you might have include:
If you've ever been up to your eyeballs in a hot project and run into a problem you simply could not solve, then you know what it would mean for your frustration level to be able to simply shoot off an email and get a prompt, personalized response.
Ease your technical frustrations for just $15 per month. Your Educated VA Basic Plus upgrade means not only will you get instant access to our library, but I'll answer one email question per day, Monday through Friday. That's less than $1 per email - a lot less than you'd pay for any other on-demand tech support solution.
But if you need a little more hand-holding (it's ok - we all do sometimes!), you can also...
Sometimes you just need someone to show you how to complete a task, what steps to follow to install a piece of software or move a website, or just double-check your set-up.
Live coaching is available to a limited number of Educated VA members. Your Premium Membership includes:
Obviously, time constraints force me to limit this option to only 20 members, so if you think this option is for you, don't delay. Sign up today for just $39 per month.
You probably know that specialists are much more in demand - and earn a lot more - than generalists. That's absolutely true, and I'd never suggest that you should dilute your services by becoming a Jane of all trades.
But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't know how to do other things.
After all, there is your own business to consider. Do you want to have to hire someone to update your website, configure a mailing list, or add a "buy now" button to your website? Of course not. These are skills every online business owner needs - whether you're selling a service or not.
In addition, more and more online business owners today are looking for more than a virtual assistant. They want a full-service business manager who can coordinate all aspects of their business, and that means working with other specialists. You can't be expected to hire and organize a team if you don't have at least a basic understanding of the tasks you're asking them to complete.
Finally, by being able to competently handle those nagging tasks that come up, you'll prove yourself to be a valuable asset - someone your client can turn to when she needs something done right, even if she knows it's not your area of expertise. That's a powerful position to be in, and one every VA should strive for.
Even if you think you simply cannot learn those nagging technical tasks, let me assure you that you can. When I started as a VA it was all I could do to create a post in WordPress, and now I can confidently edit php files, create HTML sales and opt-in pages, and even troubleshoot server issues.
I can't wait to help you with your technical training needs, so...
Don't let your fear of technology or lack of confidence prevent you from building the business you're dreaming about. Let me show you how easy it is to work with the systems your potential customers are using, so you can confidently say...
Wishing you the best in your business,
P.S. Don't forget - both the Basic Plus and Premium plans come with daily access to me, personally. I can't tell you what a relief it is to me just knowing someone "has my back" in case I get stuck. And that's exactly what email support is designed to do for you.
